When do draws take place?
Draws take place every Saturday night at 7:30pm AEST (5:30pm AWST). The winning numbers will be announced shortly after this time on the results page.
How much is the jackpot currently worth?
The next Saturday Lotto jackpot stands at $5 Million for the next draw.
How do I play Saturday Lotto?
You simply need to choose six numbers from 1 to 45. There are a variety of different ways you can do this, so take a look at our How to Play page for more details on entering a draw.
How do draws work?
Six main numbers from 1 to 45 are drawn at random, followed by two supplementary numbers from the remaining 39 balls that are left.
How many numbers do I need to match to win a Saturday Lotto dividend?
You need to match at least three of the six main numbers drawn to win a dividend. The more numbers you match from then on, the bigger the dividend.
Does two numbers and a supplementary number win?
No. You must match three of the main numbers. If one of your numbers matches a supplementary number, you must also have three of the main numbers.
How long do I have to claim my dividend on a winning ticket?
It depends where you live. For example, players in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory have six years from the date of the draw to claim a dividend on a winning ticket. In Western Australia, you only have 12 months from the date of the draw to make your claim. Go to the How to Claim page for more information.
Can I claim my prize in a different state to the one I bought my ticket in?
No – you must claim your prize in the same state in which you bought the ticket.
What are Gold Lotto, TattsLotto and X Lotto?
Saturday Lotto is called Tatts Lotto in the Northern Territory, Tasmania and Victoria, Gold Lotto in Queensland and X Lotto in South Australia. This is down to the organisations in these states running the lotteries and the names that they choose to give it, but all instances of the game have the same results and dividends regardless of where you play. So if somebody wins the Saturday Lotto Division 1 prize and someone wins the Gold Lotto Division 1 in the same draw, they will share the same dividend.
What time do ticket sales close?
Ticket sales will close just before 7:30pm AEST so make sure you buy your ticket well before this time to make sure you aren’t disappointed.
What are Megadraws and Superdraws?
Occasionally there will be Saturday Lotto draws which have a much higher jackpot prize than a normal draw. Superdraws take place a few times a year and will usually offer a jackpot of $20 million, whilst Megadraws take place less frequently but can offer a higher jackpot of $30 million. You must be at least 18 years old to buy a ticket.
